5 Centers for Art

One is good, two are better- but five centers for art in a single city is simply amazing! Minneapolis is home to a unique collection of five centers that specialize in ceramics, textiles, printmaking, book arts, and photography. All have earned renown for artistic excellence and innovation. Each offers visitors a fascinating means to explore different forms of creative expression.

Our galleries showcase work by top printmakers, book artists, fiber artists, photographers, and ceramic artists in the region and from around the world. From exquisite traditional techniques to contemporary interpretations to cutting edge innovations, the 5 center's exhibitions explore the full range of work in the arts. Exhibitions change regularly, making each visit a captivating experience. Most exhibited art work is available for purchase, and a wide variety of objects created by local and national artists is available in our sales galleries throughout the year.

For visitors who want to immerse themselves in a particular medium, our centers offer an extensive array of education programs for all ages. Classes, workshops, and lectures are conducted year-round. Many of the centers can also arrange special tours, artist demonstrations, and short hands-on events. Fees are reasonable and our centers are all handicapped accessible.

From serious collectors, casual visitors looking for unique handmade objects, and students at all levels of experience, these centers provide five good ways to begin an exploration of art in Minneapolis.
