Course Description
This course is for students new to digital photographic technology or are making the transition from film to digital and have little to no experience. Participants will learn the basics of digital photography, including composition, exposure, camera functions, loading and resizing images with Photoshop, iPhoto, the differences between different types of file formats, what's new in digital imaging, and basic printing on an Epson inkjet printer. Lectures, hands-on exercises, and question/answer sessions will help to build your photographic confidence and technique!
Requirements
Students need to bring a digital or film camera (point and shoot or digital SLR) and its manual. No previous experience in digital photography necessary, but working knowledge of computers is strongly recommended. Cost of paper and ink for printing and jump drives (optional) are not included in course fee.
Participants are allotted 10 hours of open lab time for no additional charge for the duration of this course in MCP's Digital Lab, for class related work only. Ink and paper fees still apply.
+Please Note+
This class will use iMac 17" computers with iPhoto, Photoshop CS3, and a FireFox Internet browser.
