Tim Peterson + Scott Stulen

Tim Peterson is the Director of Franklin Artworks in Minneapolis, MN. Franklin Art Works is a visual and performing arts center devoted to presenting cutting edge contemporary work by local and national artists. Through a mix of exhibitions, performing arts, film and arts education, Franklin Art Works celebrates the art of our time in all its complexity and diversity. With the ongoing development of our arts center in a renovated silent-era movie theater in Minneapolis Phillips neighborhood, Franklin Art Works is creating a unique site for artistic innovation and social interaction.

Scott Stulen is an artist and Project Director of mnartists.org at the Walker Art Center. He also works as an independent curator and is the former Associate Curator at the Rochester Art Center. He received his BFA in Sculpture from the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire, and his MFA in Painting and Drawing with a minor in Art History from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. Stulen is a mixed-media artist whose work explores personal and collective memory, pop culture, failure, loss, and obsession. He exhibits regularly throughout the country, including the recent exhibitions Lead Guitar, No Vocals (St. Cloud State University) and Arrested Development (St. Mary's College at Notre Dame University) and the upcoming Draw Too exhibition at Soo VAC (Minneapolis, Minnesota). His work was selected for inclusion in the juried national publication New American Paintings in both 2004 and 2007. Stulen curates and performs as a DJ and sound artist including the annual Headphone Festivals and monthly Flux events at the Rochester Art Center.
